SYDNEY, 27 May 2026 – CooperVision today announced the launch of clariti® 1 day multifocal with CooperVision Binocular Progressive System®1 in Australia and New Zealand, available from the 1 June 2026. The new upgraded lens features several next-generation enhancements designed to provide better vision1 and high levels of comfort2,3 for presbyopic patients, along with an easy and successful fitting experience4 for optometrists.
Nearly two billion people worldwide now experience presbyopia5, yet multifocal contact lenses remain significantly underutilised, representing a major missed opportunity for both patients and eye care professionals6.
The clariti® 1 day multifocal builds on CooperVision’s long-standing leadership in soft contact lenses*7, offering the widest range of prescription options across spherical, toric and multifocal lenses†8. Supported by proven Binocular Progressive System® technology already trusted in MyDay® multifocal9, CooperVision continues to set the benchmark in presbyopia management worldwide.
“The launch of clariti® 1 day multifocal with Binocular Progressive System® represents a significant step forward for our clariti® 1 day portfolio, with the upgrade reflecting our commitment to innovation across our silicone hydrogel one-day product families,” said Michelle North, General Manager CooperVision Australia and New Zealand. ‘By applying the same advanced lens design introduced in our highly regarded MyDay® multifocal,9 we’re giving optometrists in Australia and New Zealand an excellent product to address the growing needs of presbyopic patients.”
The clariti® 1 day multifocal with CooperVision Binocular Progressive System® maintains the features optometrists and wearers value about the lens,10,11,12 while providing improved visual acuity at all distances.1 Key enhancements include:
• CooperVision Binocular Progressive System® – the innovative technology originally developed for the widely adopted MyDay® multifocal9 provides a streamlined fitting process that makes it easier for practitioners to fit patients with the right lens from the start11 with the widest power range of any 1-day multifocal.13
• Optimised Comfort Edge™ – helping to provide good comfort.14
• WetLoc® Technology – helping to maintain lens hydration throughout the day.15
Simplified fitting, high fit success rates
Historically, multifocal contact lenses have been perceived as complex and time-consuming to fit — limiting adoption despite strong patient demand16. CooperVision’s Binocular Progressive System®1 directly addresses these barriers, delivering a streamlined, evidence-backed fitting approach that has achieved fitting success in 98% of patients with two pairs of lenses or fewer.17
“For optometrists, the combination of a simplified fitting process and strong fitting success data makes a real difference in practice,” said Joe Tanner, Head of Professional Affairs, CooperVision ANZ. “Presbyopic patients
often present with a variety of visual needs, and the clariti® 1 day multifocal allows practitioners to deliver better vision1 and comfort2,3 using an efficient fitting approach.”4
Optometrist and Melbourne-based practice owner, Genevieve Hastings said “From my experience in practice, presbyopia represents one of the biggest growth opportunities in contact lenses. With continuing advances in multifocal contact lens technology – better optics and a broader, more sophisticated range available – we can offer patients both excellent vision and lifestyle benefits. That said, these innovative lenses remain underutilised and there’s a genuine opportunity to do more for this group of patients.”
The complete clariti® 1 day portfolio
The full family of clariti® 1 day lenses – sphere, toric, and multifocal – offers all-day comfort15 and features easy handling18 and high oxygen transmissibility‡19, 20, 21 which allows for 100% corneal oxygen consumption to help maintain ocular health during daily wear.
