Gail Giordani
After more than 27 years with ZEISS, Gail Giordani to retire from corporate leadership
After an outstanding career spanning more than 27 years with ZEISS, Gail Giordani has announced her decision to step down from her role as General Manager Vision Care ANZ and begin a new chapter in semi-retirement.
Gail joined ZEISS in South Africa in 1999 as a Sales Representative in the Microscopy division. Over the course of her career, she progressed through a number of senior leadership positions, including Managing Director of Carl Zeiss South Africa and Carl Zeiss Vision South Africa, before relocating to Australia in 2021 to lead the Vision Care business across Australia and New Zealand.
Known for her strategic leadership, commercial expertise and customer focus, Gail has played an important role in strengthening ZEISS' partnerships across the optical industry. During her time in Australia and New Zealand, she worked closely with eyecare professionals to support practice growth, champion innovation and reinforce ZEISS' position as a trusted partner to optometrists and optical retailers throughout the region.
Beyond her business achievements, Gail has been a passionate mentor and leader whose commitment to excellence and developing people has left a lasting impact on colleagues, customers and the broader optical community.
